
Producer/Director
Long before D’Andra Simmons was a Real Housewife on the BRAVO TV series, she had been directing and producing TV and film projects since the 1990’s when she studied, lived and worked in Los Angeles. D’Andra holds a BA in International Affairs and Theater from Sweet Briar College in Virginia, and attended UCLA where she received additional education in Directing, Producing, Camera Operation and Gripping on set, as well as Panavision’s Cinematographer Program to learn camera operation.
She is a graduate of the Mark Travis Director’s Track Program where she directed her first short film based on the “Blood Moon” play by Nicholas Kazan. Thereafter, she directed a short film based on the story of the Lakota Sioux tribe’s White Buffalo Calf Woman mythology. Following this, in 1997, Simmons worked in animation on the TV series, “Kampung Boy”.
In 2020, D’Andra produced, “My Brother’s Crossing” and in 2024 she Directed, Produced and Executive Produced a TV pilot entitled “Silver Sirens”, for a Reality pitch project. In 2023, she was an Associate Producer on the sci-fi thriller, “Andromeda 3”, and she currently has 4 producing projects in the works, “Daring Greatly”, a feature film,
“The Veteran”, a TV series, “Untold Stories”, a TV series, “The Cynthia Ann Story” a feature film, “Conjecture”, a limited TV series, and other unannounced projects.
Simmons also successfully launched and produced her own podcast in 2019, “I Don’t Give a Rip” that was in the top 1% of comedy podcasts. She is currently reviving her podcast under a different name with new talent. You can see more about these projects and Simmons’ accomplishments on IMDB.com.
